The mission of Headway is to create and deploy innovative cost-effective web solutions through creative design services and a powerful suite of content management tools for three primary markets: small/medium businesses, independent schools, and non-profits. We strive to ensure that our web solutions meet and exceed our client's objectives, while adhering to budget and time constraints.

Owner and Principal, Blake Jackson, founded the company in January 2002 and through the help of primarily client referrals has had the pleasure of working with a broad range of more than 100 organizations.

Technology

Headway's proprietary content management solution is a suite of nearly 30 software modules that enable organizations to manage web content and functionality regardless of their internal technical or web expertise. The content is typically "rich" or composed of text, graphics, photos, documents, files, multimedia, formatting data, links, and more. Secondly, these modules create interactive functionality and logic on the web site that make it easier for the site's audience to interact with and utilize the web site.

No one module is required, and yet each module seemlessly integrates with other complimentary modules, enabling the sharing of information between modules, and virtually eliminating redundant data entry tasks. Rapid Development & Launch
Headway solutions are typically deployed in 4-12 weeks, depending on the scope of the project. Smaller implementations of individual modules require as little as 2 weeks. Customization
All of our modules are customized to compliment the design of your site, and to meet your functional needs. A few of the design elements that we customize are: buttons, color schemes, graphics, fonts, templates, and layout. We do not use any cookie-cutter designs or generic templates, and we feel each client requires a unique solution, both functionality and graphically.

Headway also utilizes the following as project catalysts, methods to facilitate the decision-making processes, and to ensure that a project's workload is manageable for both Headway and the client.

Concurrent Design & Reviews
By offering our clients access to a password-protected intranet site, some of the design and review process can be done concurrently to help make the development process more efficient, and to minimize costly wasted design.

Formal Design Reviews
We use formal design reviews throughout the entire design & development process to ensure that the functional and creative design of each project is meeting the expectations of the client. These reviews generate detailed feedback, based on first-hand exposure to the solution as it is being formulated.

Scope Creep Limits
Throughout the course of many web projects, it is quite easy to expand the scope of the design beyond that which was defined in the proposal or functional specification stages. This is known as "scope creep" in the industry. We help faciliate extensive brainstorming in the proposal stage to help induce ideas that perhaps would otherwise arise later in the project, and change the cost and scale of the project. We have limits in place that prevent projects from exploding in size, unless clients expressly authorize such changes, and are comfortable with the results.

Concurrent Content Loading
Since content and formatting information can be segregated, populating the site can be done during the site design process. We find that this helps client visualize the content in the context of the site design, and can shorten the time required to compile and load site content.

Our ability to provide fanatical customer support is paramount to Headway's mission. We believe that all customer questions and requests should be acknowledged and addressed promptly. We utilize a variety of channels of communication to achieve this:

Often used for issues that are not extremely time sensitive. Provides for a time-stamped record of your request and enables us to handle issues outside of regular business hours. Email turnaround time depends on the priority level that is assigned, but ranges from 1 - 24 hours.

Our toll-free support line gives you direct access to help and is best used for more complex issues that require detailed explanation or any issue that requires expedicious response.

Web
Our support portal offers a host of electronic documentation on our content management application. We can also develop client-specific documentation for custom programmed applications.

On-site
Training and on-site support is available for all of our clients. Group sessions can be very effective for our content management application.
